On April 11, 2025, the French Ambassador to China hosted a special ceremony in Shenzhen to commemorate the 60th anniversary of France-China diplomatic relations.
In his address, the Ambassador highlighted key moments in China Merchants history and shared the story behind the famed French cruise ship docked near the venue for decades. He noted that the vessel's refurbishment is nearing completion and promised it would offer fantastic surprises upon its reopening in the coming months.
The ceremony featured several prestigious guest speakers, including renowned actors. The evening culminated with a special screening of "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Jules Verne" a Chinese-directed film produced in China, which was greatly enjoyed by all the distinguished attendees.
